Biochemistry deals with the detailed study of chemistry of living things and biochemical reactions happening in the body. This subject is taught in I year BDS. Biochemistry provides the patient services to hospital patients for diagnosis and prognosis of the various diseases to the physician and it also deals in details about the research in the entire faculty.The Students understand the importance of biochemistry in clinical practice and its integrational role in various related dental diseases. After completing this course, students will be able to identify the efficiency and effect of biomolecule in human diseases, diagnose diseases in human body related to dentistry and perform the standardization of various techniques for the patients.

I am teaching the subject of Biochemistry, which is the basic science of medicine, since 42 years. Today biochemistry is all set to unravel hidden miseries of life. Keeping this in view the biochemistry department is set up and established in Year-2006 with well equipped laboratory for BDS students including the clinical biochemistry Laboratory unit in Hospital for the benefit of the patients.
