The Department of General Anatomy supports dental and medical education through structured academic teaching, clinical orientation, patient care exposure and research-focused learning. The department encourages disciplined study, practical understanding and professional values among students.
Anatomy deals with the detailed study of structure of body, Histology, Genetics and Embryology. This subject is taught in I year BDS. Understanding this subject is crucial as it orients them towards the application of knowledge in solving clinical problems. The students get access to clinical staff in specialist fields such as radiology, surgery, NSTC, and emergency medicine. The staff members are encouraged to update their knowledge, engage in research activities and conduct seminars for the students.

When traditional black board teaching is combined with new methods like e learning, power point presentation, problem based learning; conceptual learning and analytical thinking is developed. Our department has a Practical lab, a demonstration room, instrumentation and preparation room with specialized equipments and a separate departmental library to enable the students. The faculties in the department are well experienced and highly sought who keep themselves updated by attending Conferences, Workshops, and Seminars.
